Small Bottle Label Sizes: 30 mL, 50 mL, 2 oz, and 4 oz
Short answer: on small bottles the label height is the tight dimension. The five current bottles below publish panels between 1.56 and 2.52 inches high, so a 2 by 1.25 inch pre-cut label fits inside every one of them. Measure your bottle before going taller.

Published label panels for small bottles
SKS Bottle & Packaging lists a label panel for each bottle it sells: the straight-sided height and the distance around the body. Height limits how tall a label can be. Width limits how far a wrap can go. A front label only needs part of the width.

Centimeter values are rounded from the millimeter figures each product page publishes. The same volume in glass, PET, or a different closure changes the panel, so open the exact product you own.
One pre-cut size that fits all five
OnlineLabels product OL5225 is a finished 2 by 1.25 inch rectangle, 32 to a US Letter sheet. Its 1.25 inch height clears the shortest panel above (1.56 inches) with room for placement error, and its 2 inch width stays well inside every listed wrap distance. That makes it a stocked starting point for droppers, tinctures, sample bottles, and minis. It is not a claim that 2 by 1.25 inches is the best-looking size on every bottle.
Want to fill more of a 4 oz panel? Design at the measured height in the editor, print on a full sheet, and cut. The editor accepts any width and height from 0.5 to 12 inches.
OnlineLabels OL5225WX manufacturer specification50 mL spirits miniatures are brand-shaped
The 50 mL nip you buy at a liquor store is molded for one brand, and the straight-sided area varies from a squat square body to a slim flask. We have not found a bottle manufacturer that publishes a label panel for a retail miniature, so this page does not quote one. Measure the flat height on the exact mini, then start from a 2 by 1.25 inch label or a 2 inch square and tape a paper proof in place.
Minis for a wedding or party usually get a front label, not a wrap. Our wedding bottle label guide covers the design side.
Measure a small bottle in four steps
- 1
Find the straight height
Stand the bottle on a table and measure only the vertical run between the shoulder curve and the heel curve. On a 2 oz Boston round that is about an inch and a half.
- 2
Wrap a paper strip
Wrap a strip of paper around the body, mark the overlap, and measure the strip. That is your maximum wrap length. A front label needs a third to a half of it.
- 3
Subtract clearance
Take at least an eighth of an inch off the height, more if the bottle tapers or has a seam. Small bottles make placement errors obvious.
- 4
Proof at actual size
Print the label outline at 100 percent on plain paper, cut it, and tape it on. Check that the cap and dropper do not shadow the top edge.
Small bottle label size questions
- What size label fits a 50 mL bottle?
- It depends on the shape. One current 50 mL PET bottle publishes a 2.52" high by 3.98" wide label panel, or 6.4 by 10.1 cm. A 50 mL spirits miniature is shorter and brand-shaped, and we have not found a manufacturer panel specification for one. For a mini, measure the straight-sided height, then start with a 2" by 1.25" pre-cut label and proof it on the bottle.
- What is a 50 mL bottle label size in cm?
- Convert the panel, not the bottle. The 50 mL PET bottle above allows a label up to 6.4 cm high and 10.1 cm around. A 2 inch by 1.25 inch pre-cut label is 5.1 by 3.2 cm, which sits inside that panel with room to spare.
- What size label fits a 2 oz tincture or dropper bottle?
- Two current 2 oz bottles publish panels of 1.56" and 1.89" high, so the label height is the tight dimension. A 2" by 1.25" label fits inside both. A wrap can run up to 4.49" or 4.57" around, but leave a gap so the ends do not overlap on a taper.
- What size label fits a 4 oz bottle?
- One current 4 oz PET Boston round publishes a 1.82" high by 5.81" wide panel, or 4.6 by 14.8 cm. Glass 4 oz bottles from the same supplier list taller panels, so a 4 oz label can often be taller on glass than on plastic. Measure the exact bottle before choosing a height over 1.75 inches.
- What size label fits a 30 mL or 1 oz bottle?
- The 1 oz PET Boston round above publishes a 1.70" high by 3.38" wide panel, or 4.3 by 8.6 cm. A 2" by 1.25" label fits as a front label. A full wrap needs to stay under 3.38" long on that bottle.
- What about a 100 mL bottle label size in inches?
- We have not located a published panel for a 100 mL bottle yet. For Boston round shapes, 100 mL sits between the 2 oz and 4 oz rows above, whose panels run from 1.56 to 1.89 inches high. That is an inference from neighboring sizes, not a specification. Measure the straight body on your bottle and treat 1.5 inches as a safe starting height.
